UNCP's new eatery on campus is helping students stay refreshed while studying. Café 641 opened in the Mary Livermore Library last semester. The variety of options on the menu have caught students’ attention and the new hours have made it easier to visit in between classes. Community and Civic Engagement Tackles Hunger and Homelessness
Community and Civic Engagement, CCE, held their first “Justice through Service Luncheon” on Jan. 30. As a part of a new monthly series started by UNCP student Taylor Strickland, the luncheon focused on hunger and homelessness at UNCP. The CARE Resource Center is run by CCE. Library Gets New Cafe With Jazzman’s Closing
Since Jazzman’s is closing soon, the library is opening a new café for students to study and eat. The new eatery is expected to be bigger and have a larger menu than Jazzman’s, according to Dennis Swanson, the dean of the library. “More along the lines of Panera Bread,” Swanson said. “Soup, bread, sandwiches and coffee. You know, you’re studying and you have to get up and get a snack or something, you’re going to have to pack up all your stuff and books and go get something t
