SGA Hosts World Hunger Banquet
The Student Government Association hosted an information session on world hunger in the University Center lounge on March 19. Students participated in activities and listened to music of different cultures to gain knowledge about the issue. One of the activities involved students splitting up into groups or “classes”. SGA Proposes Transportation Ideas for Students to Improve Parking
Last year, the Student Government Association passed a proposal that was intended to evaluate UNCP’s parking issues and how students engage in transportation around campus. The ‘Alternative Campus Transportation Act’ called for numerous changes to the ways students traveled around campus and to the local community. SGA Approves Funding for an Awareness Event
The Student Government Association voted 13 to 0 to fund a Native American event, “#NoMore”, honoring dead and missing indigenous women across the country. The event is scheduled for March 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the UC Lounge. The Native American Student Organization (NASO) will host the event where they will raise awareness of the numerous indigenous women who have disappeared or died in the local area. SGA Election Fills Four Senate Seats
The Student Government Association (SGA) announced Zachius Coleridge-Taylor, Stephanie Balacco, Tyler Harris and Ahmaad Green as their fall of 2018 senators. UNCP Students experienced a blast from the past when retro games came to the UC on March 14 from 10 to 2p.m. The event was sponsored by PAC.
