Braves Golf Recorded Some Impressive Performances in the 2018-2019 Season
Here are some takeaways and standout performances from UNCP women’s golf team’s 2018-2019 season. They set some new program records, registered some top three finishes and was capped off with a runner up finish in the Peach Belt Conference Championship tournament:

Braves Trade Wins with Augusta in Doubleheader
The UNCP softball team was able to pick a win and build some more momentum as the regular season portion of their schedule comes to a close in their twinbill matchup with the Jaguars of Augusta University. The Braves split the doubleheader with their Peach Belt Conference foes winning the first game 4-2 and were shutout in the second on April 20th at Jaguar Field.

Softball Uses Explosive Offense to Sweep Johnson C. Smith
The bats of the Braves refuse to cool off down the final stretch of the season and that was especially evident in their commanding sweep of the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University on April 17 at Biddleville Park in Charlotte, N.C. The UNCP softball team wrapped their last bit of non-conference action and recorded their 14th and 15th double-digit hit performances of the season with their pair of victories in the twinbill. Braves Pick Up Vital Win Over Patriots in Last Home Action of the Year
In their last home action of the 2019 season, the UNCP softball team welcomed the Francis Marion University Patriots to UNCP Softball Field on April 16th for a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader. The Braves split the twinbill with their conference foe by taking the first game 2-1 and dropping the second 7-1.

Softball Splits With GSW After a Pair of Extra Inning Nail Biters
The UNCP softball team faced off against with the Georgia Southwestern University Canes in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader on Saturday at the Lady Canes Softball Field. The Braves took both games of the twinbill into extra innings and while they came out victorious in game one when they broke the scoreless stalemate for a 1-0 win, they would drop game two 5-6 after their host would score a pair of runs in the bottom of the 10th.

Braves Prevent Series Sweep by North Georgia on Senior Day
The UNCP baseball team was able to salvage a win in the final game of their weekend Peach Belt Conference series with the Night Hawks of North Georgia thanks in large part to the significant contributions they got from their graduating class. The Braves’ seniors showed up and showed out on Senior Day in front of family, friends and a whole flock of Black and Gold faithful at Sammy Cox Field on Sunday for an 18-6 victory.

Offense Shows Flashes but Defense Reigns Supreme in Spring Scrimmage
The UNCP football team held their annual Black and Gold inter-squad scrimmage on April 11 at Grace P. Johnson Stadium. Plays were made on both sides of the ball when the Black squad faced off against the Gold squad, but it was the Gold squad that came out of the defensive bout victorious in a 10-9 triumph.

The UNCP Baseball team put up a strong fight Wednesday night in their game against the Royals of Queens University, however, were upset in the final innings of the game came up just short of victory at 11-12. The Braves were coming off of a big win Sunday against Francis Marion University, in which they beat the Patriots 23-10. They brought tremendous energy into the game, having two huge frames where they tallied four runs.
