Social Space A Part of Construction Plans for University Center
After much speculation, the construction site outside of the University Center (UC) has been confirmed to be producing a new outdoor social space.
The project, costing $230,000, is already 40 percent complete according to Michael Clark, the university’s architectural director.
The UC is the most highly trafficked location on campus and has been in severe need of an outdoor gathering space for past several years.
Students can been seen socializing outside of the UC throughout all hours of the day.
Adarius Williams, a junior, believes this space will be a great addition to the campus, but he says he wishes it was built sooner.
“I’m excited to see where this school is going,” said Williams, who is graduating next year. “I am looking forward on visiting back in my future.”
Although the school has no immediate plans for what is going to be built next, UNC-Pembroke is always looking for feedback from the community and students on how to make UNCP a better environment.
