How to Stay Safe on Halloween
Everybody knows what happens in the month of October...Halloween.
We all know Halloween is a day of candy, costumes, tricks and of course, the Halloween parties.
Halloween is also a day where staying out late can be fun, especially for college students.
Even though Halloween is the day for college kids to go out and have fun, it is also a day where the police are out to protect and serve the trick-or-treaters and party-goers.
On Halloween, it’s better for college students to stay safe when staying out late.
Following are a few tips on how to stay safe on Halloween:
Make sure to stay with a group.
Being in a group is safer than being alone on Halloween because being in a group guarantees that there is someone close to you that ca help in case something goes wrong.
Groups should contain at least 4-5 people.
Keep your phone on and charged.
Make sure that you have your phone on you at all times.
Having a phone is the most important thing to keep close because you don’t want to be alone with no way to contact help.
Incase your phone dies, make sure you have a backup method of communication.
Be aware of your surroundings.
Make sure that you have enough cash to get you through the day.
Also, be aware that on Halloween there are thieves ready to steal purses, wallets, and other valuables.
If anything gets taken, call the police or if any credit cards have been stolen, first call the police and then call your bank and deactivate them.
Don’t drink and drive.
We all know that Halloween is the best night to have a party, and where there’s a party, there will likely be drinking.
If you are planning on drinking, make sure that you have a designated driver. If possible, call a cab or an Uber.
Trust your instincts.
Every person should trust their instincts. Some people might call
it using your sixth sense.
Think before you act, never let anyone talk you into doing anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or puts you in a compromising situation.
Follow these tips to ensure that your Halloween is both safe and memorable, in the best ways possible.
