A Fashionista’s Guide to Shopping on a Budget

Winter is near and it may be time to get new clothes to show off your fashionable style.

As a true fashionista you have champagne taste, but for some, your wallet may say beer. So, you’re on a budget but you don’t want your style to show it, what do you do?

Know Your Budget

The first thing to do is know your budget, this is important because you don’t want to over spend. It’s also a good indicator on where you should shop.

Once you have decided what your budget is, you should start thinking about what type of clothes you want.

You have your own personal style, and no one can take that from you.

These factors will be good indicator in determining where you could shop.

Know What You Want

You should also know exactly what you are looking for before you start to shop.

The most important thing to remember is that no matter what you buy, your style is your style and nobody can take that away for you.

So rock every outfit with confidence.

Shop Online

One of the harder decisions to make is which stores you want to shop at.

Online shopping is a good way to go, with most retailers offering free shipping when you spend a certain amount on items.

One of the only  issues when buying clothes online is that it’s hard to figure out the sizing of clothes because you don’t have a chance to try them on.

Some clothes run smaller than others, so it’s good to do your research. The following stores are great online stores to shop at: Fashion Nova, Zara, and Forever 21.

Do Your Research

There a lot of stores that are great to shop at when on a budget, that will give you the style you want for the season.

Therefore, it is important to do your research about the store if you are shopping online.

Fashion Nova

Fashion Nova’s clothes can run small for some items, so be sure to double check which materials make up the clothing you are trying to purchase.

Also, keep in mind that Fashion Nova sells clothes to showcase curves.

So, while there are some items that will not fit snug, others will.

Additionally, Fashion Nova is a store that has more urban clothes, which is also something that should be kept in mind when deciding on the store that you want to use.

Zara

Zara is an online store that sells clothes that are chic.

“Zara carries extremely trendy (and sometimes crazy) styles, so it’s important that you go in with a sense of what you like to get the best value for your money,” as stated on collegefashion.net.

Zara is also more on the expensive side, with some of the items on this site costing close to, or even more than, $200.

Forever 21

Forever 21 is also a great store.

Similar to Fashion Nova, their clothes tend to run a little tight.

Their clothes are really nice and affordable, making it easy to find clothes that are your style without hurting your bank account.

Use Your Resources

You can also sell old clothes on eBay to earn a bit more spending cash to use at the previously mentioned stores.

You can also sell clothes through Facebook or sell them to second-hand stores like Plato’s Closet.

You may not make as much money from second-hand stores as you would on eBay, but it is still a good option for making quick, easy cash.
