About the Flu: Letter From the Editor

Like many others on campus, members of the Pine Needle staff were hit by the flu during the creation of this edition.
According to WNCN, some schools in North Carolina have actually closed due to the amount of students riddled with the influenza. One school, located in Matthews (near Charlotte), documented the illness in 16 percent of its student population.
While production weeks are always the busiest time for the Pine Needle, we urged our ill staff to stay home, or visit the Student Health Services, instead of coming to the office.
We urge the rest of the student body to do the same - don’t go to class if you feel any of the symptoms listed in the infographic above. Sanitize and stay well-hydrated.
