Barton Tri Meet

The UNCP swimming team registered the most lopsided triumph in program history on Oct. 21 at the Barton Tri-Meet at the Harrison Family YMCA in Rocky Mount, N.C.

A dozen swimmers recorded new personal best times and set five school records in a 136-5 victory over William Peace. However, the host Barton later dominated the Braves by a final score of 141-49.

Freshman Abigail Wood posted up her fourth win in an event of the season in the 100- yard backstroke in a time of 1:03.99. She also broke a school record in the 100-yard butterfly by finishing in 1:04.14, which resulted in a runner-up finish.

The UNCP swimming squad finished first in seven of the 11 events on Oct. 28th at the Greensboro Meet and cruised to four victories over host Greensboro, Guilford, LaGrange and Randolph by a staggering combined score of 509-107.

The Braves improved to 5-2 on the season and recorded multiple victories on the same day for the first time in program history. The Black and Gold got off to a swift start by winning the day’s first event, the 200-yard medley relay.
