Swim Team Sets Records

Columbia opener

During the meet, freshman Jaycie Knight placed top honors in two events, the 50-yard free and the 100-yard back. Megan Hunter and Jaiden Estrada both grabbed titles, Hunter in the 200-yard free and Estrada in the 100-yard free.

The efforts by the Braves were amazing. They showcased their talents to the best of their abilities but fell short with a score of 77-81.

Converse women’s invite day 1

This meet was a record breaker with the freshman Bianca Bateman destroying the school record for the 100 fly by almost a second adding to her school breaking record. Highlights from the meet Bateman timed out with a 1:03.6 finishing in sixth place in the 100-ya fly event but later demolished the medley relay by six seconds.

Converse women’s Invite day 2

Day two was nothing less than the day before.Bianca Bateman shadowed the record in the 100 yard individual medley and our Black and Gold swimmers ended the day being top 10 finishers. Bateman beat the superlative record by .50 seconds.

UNCP placed and registered fourth place at the end of the 8th annual Converse women’s invite.

Greensboro tri-meet

In this meet Megan Hunter achieved a runner-up position in the 200-yard freestyle and also obtained third place in the 100-yard butterfly and also the 500 yard freestyle this set the braves team to a split.

This marked our Braves first win with an unstoppable and astonishing score of 134-24 over the opposing team Pride. But our Braves later came up short against Roanoke with a score of 189-77.

Overall

The individual records and accomplishments show the talent up and down the swimming team’s roster. As the squad grows, practices and matures together, they’ll look to string to gether more wins to go along with all the accolades.
